My Paradise by Elizabeth Gadd

You mean to show me that there’s a whole set to my favorite picture?!?!??

I want, I want, I want
god I can be so selfish
but all I want is your face
nestled up against my neck
until the sun rises
and your hand in mine
so we never spend
a second apart.
I’m selfish for your love
and I will be
until the day I die
because I want your kisses
to be mine
and no one else’s.
I want your sleepy yawns
and even your shaky
3 am nightmares
because I want to be the one
to make you feel better.
I’m human and I’m selfish
and I’m selfish for you. —I want you - vaind (via perfect)
It’s alright to cry
Even my dad does sometimes
So don’t wipe your eyes
Tears remind you you’re alive
It’s alright to die
‘Cause death’s the only thing you haven’t tried
But just for tonight hold on —Go on and tell me that Ed Sheeran is not a fucking God. (via smug—face)

Limzy Wei: Flowergirls

artist on tumblr

Malaysian artist Lim Zhi Wei adorns her watercolors entitled “ Flowergirls” with real flowers, to a stunning effect.
The world is blue at its edges and in its depths. This blue is the light that got lost. Light at the blue end of the spectrum does not travel the whole distance from the sun to us. It disperses among the molecules of the air, it scatters in water. Water is colorless, shallow water appears to be the color of whatever lies underneath it, but deep water is full of this scattered light, the purer the water the deeper the blue. The sky is blue for the same reason, but the blue at the horizon, the blue of land that seems to be dissolving into the sky, is a deeper, dreamier, melancholy blue, the blue at the farthest reaches of the places where you see for miles, the blue of distance. This light that does not touch us, does not travel the whole distance, the light that gets lost, gives us the beauty of the world, so much of which is in the color blue. —

Rebecca Solnit

This science-meets-poetry ode to the “lost light” that is Rayleigh-scattered blue comes from her book A Field Guide To Getting Lost (reviewed marvellously at Brain Pickings)

I want to exist with you. Let’s make traditions and spend hours wishing we were together each time we’re apart. Friday nights should be spent on ice cream dates and getting lost somewhere in town. Hold my hand when I feel scared. I’ll listen to your heart beat in sync with the rain, never forgetting it’s slow and steady sound. Wake up on Saturday morning with me. Let’s watch the sun begin to rise, only to fall back asleep again. I will surprise you with every chance I get, there’s nothing I wouldn’t do. I’ve existed all along on my own, but I would rather exist with you. —Untitled #1 ||  (via fadedtracksinthesnow)
